Are You Living Your Purpose Aloud?

Author of The Power of Purpose and The Thought Leader's Code

How to use this. This isn't a test, and there's no score to chase — only honest answers. Some people move through it in fifteen quiet minutes. Others let it sit for a week before picking up a pen. Both are fine. Write what's true rather than what's impressive — no one else needs to see this unless you choose to share it. Nothing you type here is saved or sent anywhere, so use Print / Save as PDF or Copy my answers before you close the page.

Part One

Where You Stand Right Now

A quick self-check. For each statement, choose the number that feels most true — 1 (Rarely) to 5 (Almost Always). There's no passing score.

Statement12345
Your total: — / 25
A note on your total. This number isn't a verdict. A low score doesn't mean your purpose is unclear — it may simply mean it's still living quietly. A high score doesn't mean the work is done — purpose is something you keep choosing to live, not a box you tick once. What matters more is what you noticed while answering. Carry that into Part Two.

Part Two

The Gap

Most people don't struggle to know what matters to them. They struggle to say it, consistently, out loud, in their work and their relationships. This section is about noticing where that gap shows up for you.

1

Where in your life is there a gap between what you know to be true and what you actually say out loud?

2

What is one belief, value, or idea you hold strongly but rarely voice? What keeps it quiet?

3

If you expressed it more often, what do you imagine might happen? Look honestly at that answer — is the cost real, or assumed?

Part Three

Finding Your Voice

Voice isn't a writing style or a personal-brand aesthetic — it's the honest, consistent expression of what you already know to be true. This section borrows a short exercise from The Thought Leader's Code.

Think of the last time you held back an opinion, an idea, or a piece of feedback you actually believed in — not out of unkindness, but out of caution.
1

What was I protecting by staying quiet?

2

What would it have honestly cost me to say it?

3

Was that cost real, or assumed?

Part Four

One Small Step

Purpose isn't proven in a single bold moment. It's lived in small, repeated choices to let what you believe shape what you say and do.

1

Based on what's surfaced above, where — a conversation, a piece of writing, a meeting — could you let your purpose show a little more clearly this week?

2

Write one sentence you'd be willing to say out loud, to someone, this week.

Before You Go

You don't need to act on all of this at once. Return to this worksheet whenever it feels relevant — your answers today don't have to be your answers next year.

If parts of this resonated, The Thought Leader's Code picks up exactly where this worksheet leaves off — turning quiet clarity into a voice, a body of work, and eventually, a legacy.
