The Munching Ninja Healthy Eating Series
Healthy food, joyful discovery and practical learning for young children
Make healthy eating a subject children want to explore
Children are more likely to try, enjoy and value healthy food when learning feels playful and relevant to their world. The Munching Ninja Series turns fruits, vegetables, snacks and meals into colourful learning adventures that build curiosity long before food reaches the plate.
Across six books, young readers discover what different foods are called, where they come from, how they grow, why they are good for the body and how everyday food choices affect people and the planet. The series also brings language, culture, sustainability and practical life skills into the conversation.
Created for use at home and in learning environments, Munching Ninja gives parents and educators an approachable way to nurture healthier habits without turning mealtimes into lectures.
Why I created the series
Healthy eating advice can feel abstract to a child. I created Munching Ninja to make food education visual, active and enjoyable. Instead of simply telling children what they should eat, the series invites them to name, compare, ask questions, prepare simple foods and understand the value of what is on their plate.
The wider goal is confidence. When children recognise foods, understand their benefits and take part in age-appropriate choices, they begin to develop habits and practical knowledge that can support them for life.
This series is a good fit if you want to
- Encourage children to become more curious and confident around healthy food.
- Introduce fruits, vegetables, snacks and meals through attractive, age-appropriate content.
- Connect nutrition with language, geography, culture and sustainability.
- Use food as a starting point for reading, discussion, matching, drawing and practical activities.
- Give parents and teachers resources that extend learning beyond a single story or lesson.
